“Good News and Great Joy”

Series Overview:

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’” -Luke 2:10 (NIV)

Jesus Christ is God’s greatest gift to the world. Through his life, death, and resurrection, we all have the opportunity to leave our lives of sin behind, be born again as new creations, and receive our eternal salvation from God. None of that would be possible without Jesus, which is why his arrival on Earth two thousand years ago was such an important moment in God’s plan of salvation.

After many centuries of feeling lost, confused, and hopeless, God’s people finally got some good news: the savior they’d been hoping for was coming into the world. And God knew this good news would cause great joy for everyone on Earth.

This Christmas season, we invite you and your family to join us at Southwest for a message series about the joy we have in Jesus. Specifically, we will be taking time to thank God for the joy, presence, guidance, power, salvation, and peace we have in Christ — all of which are emphasized in the Biblical stories about Jesus’s birth (Matthew 1-2; Luke 1-2).

Our prayer is that this message series will help us stay rooted in the goodness and promises of God so that we will serve him, bless others, and follow Jesus faithfully with joy and hope in our hearts.
